The building and the maintenance of roads is the responsibility of the government. The Federal government has always played an important part in making sure that major highways and bridges are in good shape since they're vital to the growth and the development of the country.

An example is the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 whereby there was a construction of interstate highway of about 41,000 miles whereby majority of they cost was borne by the Federal government. This helped improve the transportation network in the country and was vital for socio economic development.

In conclusion, the individual states gave very little resistance to the federal government's efforts to improve roads as it had a positive impact on the economy.

In conclusion, the correct option is true.

Identify the events that led to the Progressive Era, and explain who the Progressives actually were.
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

The events that led to the Progressive Era—which was a period of predominant social and political reforms in the United States between the 1890s and 1920s—were the socioeconomic challenges and problems caused by political corruption and inefficiency, urbanization, immigration, and industrialization. The Progressive Era aimed at tackling and removing corruption from many aspects of government and daily living, and strengthening democracy.

Generally speaking, the progressives were/included both government (political) and non-governmental leaders alike: political leaders included people like Robert M. La Follette Sr., Roosevelt Franklin, Charles Evans Hughes, Woodrow Wilson, William Jennings, etc. On the other hand, non-governmental leaders included Sophonisba Breckinridge, Jane Addams, Edith Abbott, etc.

Mariulka [41]

Answer:

Charlemagne.

Explanation:

After the fall of the Early Roman Empire in 476 BC, the kingdom of Europe fell into the hands of many small kingdoms. But after about three centuries after that, King Charlemagne began his reign and helped unite a large part of Europe into his kingdom.

King Charlemagne was the king of the Franks who came to the throne in 751 BC. His rule began with the plan to unite all Germanic people under his power. He also made it a point to convert the subjects from the captured places into Christianity, thereby propagating the religion on a large scale. That was one of the reasons why Christianity emerged strongly during the Roman empire.

Thus, the correct answer is King Charlemagne.
