In 1874, a group of Cleveland women organised the Women's Christians Union with the goal to end the production, marketing and consumption of alcohol. This organization put pressure on Ohio and the Federal governments to implement a ban on alcohol. In order to reach their goals, members of this group protested pubs and saloons by singing marching, and draining alcohol. In the initial phase, the members of the group tried to convince people to reduce the consumption of alcohol. In the later phase, however, members of the organization used rather extreme methods to change the mind of the Americans to avoid the consumption of alcohol.
B.) The English People
The English people, who were under the govern of John, King of England, were not treated as fairly. They could not hunt/kill animals that were on the king’s field/territories. The king only favoured the wealth such as the Lords/Dukes. The English people, which were once called “peasants” had enough and wanted a new leader, a leader that can give them more freedom. John, King of England, decided to finally listen to the voice of his citizens and decided to implement the Magna Carta, and was signed in 1215.
These two river valleys were similar, because they both had a government form in hierarchy. They both had a ruler, and they were in the monarchy system. Some of the systems were considered to be well off systems because they were able to rule without disruptions and others had systems which were not in equality with men and women.
