I read animal farm and the pigs start to form a hierarchy and take advantage of the other animals. They trick them with the amendments because the other animals cannot read, claiming that the pigs are "more equal" than the other animals. They also justify the killing of other animals because they misbehaved and take over the farmer's house. Squealer is a smooth talker who can manipulate the other animals into trusting the pigs and their plans.
