Industrialization requires a lot of space which business owners need to build their factories and store their supplies/equipment's.

The value of historical archeological monuments generally based on sentimental reasons. Not necessarily express the market value.

Many of these monuments actually located in an area where the cost of the land was fairly cheap and became an ideal location to build factories. So, many of these monuments were destroyed in order to provide a  space to establish business operations.
