Answer:

The man the dust now represents is Abraham Lincoln.

Explanation:

The poem "This Dust Was Once the Man" by Walt Whitman is an elegy, which means it honors the life and memory of a dead person. This poem, just like "O Captain! My Captain" honors the American president Abraham Lincoln. Whitman refers to Lincoln as "gentle, plain, just, and resolute," which are in fact qualities for which the president was well known.

There are different interpretations of what "the foulest crime in history" means. Some say it refers to the attempt of secession by the southern states. Others claim that it refers to Lincoln's assassination.

What is the setting in Desiderata?<br> What is the plot in Desiderata?<br> Please help!
Y_Kistochka [10]
The Desiderata is that poem: "<span>Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence".

The plot is basically self-help. Get up and get on with it.
I am not sure about the setting.  I can make a guess: the setting would be the human mind.

Figure ABCD is a parallelogram. What is the perimeter of ABCD
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

44 units

Explanation:

To solve this you would have to find the value of x and y. To find y you would solve for y using the equation 4y-2 = 2y+6, which would make y=4. To find x you would solve for x using the equation 3x-1 = 2x+2, which would make x=3. Next, you plug in the values of x and y, and add together all of the sides. After you add all of them together, that would make the perimeter of ABCD 44 units.
