Answer:

a. Cortical integration centers override the spinal reflex.

Explanation:

Withdrawal reflex actions are performed via nociceptive receptors and flexor muscles. The spinal reflex is intended to protect the body from damaging stimuli i.e. withdrawing the hands when a person touches some hot object and heat stimulates nociceptive receptors on skin triggering a sensory impulse to nervous system. The sensory neurons synapses with motor neurons to send motor impulses to the flexor muscles for hand withdrawal. However, some motor neurons send inhibitory signals to extensors so that flexion is inhibited which is called reciprocal innervation. However, the body can override the reflex via cortical integration by using either recursion or compression mechanisms of integration. The compression mechanism of cortical integration may apply the Recursive Auto-Associative Memory (or RAAM) which allows the storage of some hidden responses to some previously held situations in the cortical layers of brain. Hence, when the same situation occurs again, the reflexive response is different and may allow suppression of reflex via RAAM cortical integration. In the given scenario, the spinal reflex intends to drop the plate as soon as heat touches the nociceptive receptors. However, RAAM cortical integration may resist the reflex to drop and put it safely somewhere because the mind is intended to reach the goal of saving the dinner on the plate.

A patient having total occlusion of the left femoral artery also have Pale skin to the left foot.

What is Occlusive Peripheral Arterial Disease?

  • Blockage or narrowing of a leg (or, less frequently, arm) artery, typically brought on by atherosclerosis and resulting in reduced blood flow, is known as occlusive peripheral arterial disease.
  • The symptoms depend on the size of the blockage and which artery it is in.
  • The two iliac arteries, the femoral arteries, the popliteal arteries, and the calves' main arteries are among the arteries in the legs where occlusive peripheral arterial disease most frequently manifests (tibial and peroneal arteries).

Define the term tissue and discuss the four principal types of tissue, the base functions of each and the process by which they
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

A tissue is an ensemble of similar cells and their extracellular matrix from the same origin that together carry out a specific function.

There are 4 basic types of tissue: connective tissue, epithelial tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue

Connective tissue supports other tissues and binds them together (bone, blood, and lymph tissues). Epithelial tissue provides a covering (skin, the linings of the various passages inside the body).

A 2ml sample was added to a 18 ml diluent in tube 1 which now has a Concentration of 300ng/ml. A 2ml of the sample was moved eac
puteri [66]

Answer:

288ng/ml

Explanation:

A serial dilution is any dilution where the concentration decreases by the same quantity in each successive step.

  • Serial dilutions are multiplicative.

it to 3 rounds of dilutions for the first tube so 3x6=12 so the 300-12=288

Evidence is carefully collected and is in the custody of authorized people from the time it is collected until it is submitted i
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer

The term “evidence,” as it relates to investigation, speaks to a wide range of information sources that might eventually inform the court to prove or disprove points at issue before the trier of fact. Sources of evidence can include anything from the observations of witnesses to the examination and analysis of physical objects. It can even include the spatial relationships between people, places, and objects within the timeline of events. From the various forms of evidence, the court can draw inferences and reach conclusions to determine if a charge has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Considering the critical nature of evidence within the court system, there are a wide variety of definitions and protocols that have evolved to direct the way evidence is defined for consideration by the court. Many of these protocols are specifically addressed and defined within the provisions of the Canada Evidence Act (Government of Canada, 2017).

In this chapter, we will look at some of the key definitions and protocols that an investigator should understand to carry out the investigative process:
