A large university with over 40,000 students recently took a survey in which 31% of the students claimed to exercise at least 3

times a week. A simple random sample of 250 students was selected. Let p hat= the proportion of students in the sample who claimed to work out at least 3 times a week.
What is the mean of the sampling distribution of p hat ? Enter your answer as a decimal rounded to the hundredths place.

So x is a variable which is just <span>character representing a number. We want to find x. To do this we want to get X by itself on one side of the equation. In this case/ we just need to divide both side by -4. Whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other. This gives us  X = -12. To check yourself just plug your answer back into the equation to see if its right. -4(-12) = 48. You have successfully solved for X.</span>

5 - 3tan3x = 0 trên -π&lt; x &lt; π.
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

x = 0.343

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to solve:

5 - 3tan(3x) = 0

such that:

-π< x < π

where π = 3.14

then:

-3.14 < x < 3.14

Let's solve the equation:

5 - 3tan(3x) = 0

-3tan(3x) = -5

tan(3x) = -5/-3 = 5/3

Now we can use the inverse tan function, Atan(x).

Remember that:

Atan( tan(x) ) = tan( Atan(x)) = x

Then if we apply that function to both sides, we get:

Atan( tan(3x)) = Atan(5/3)

3x = Atan(5/3)

x = Atan(5/3)/3 = 0.343

What are the width and the area of the rug?
kaheart [24]

Given:

The rug is in the shape of a kite.

d_1=31 in

d_2=9 in

To find:

The width and area of the rug

Solution:

Width of the rug = 9 in

Area of the kite = \frac{1}{2} \times d_1 \times d_2

                          $=\frac{1}{2} \times 31 \times 9

                          = 139.5 in³

The area of the rug is 139.5 in³.

Write x2 − 6x + 7 = 0 in the form (x − a)2 = b, where a and b are integers.
Mariulka [41]
X² − 6x + 7 = 0

Let's complete the square [x²-6x+(??)²] -(??)² +7 = 0

As you noticed we have added the unknown square & also subtract the same so that not to change the equation

The question now is to calculate this square (??)²

We know that the middle term (6x) is twice the square root of the 1st times the square root of the 2nd, That is 6x=2x (multiply) √(??)²

6x = 2x?? & ??=6x/2x===> ?? =3 & (??)² =9

Hence plug (??)² into the equation above:

x² - 6x + 9 - 9 +7 =0

(x²-6x+9) -9 + 7 =0

(x-3)² -2 =0 ====> (x-3)² = 2 (that is B)
