The immediate roots of rock and roll lay in the rhythm and blues, then called "race music", and country music of the 1940s and 1950s. Particularly significant influences were jazz, blues, gospel, country, and folk. Chuck Berry did in fact invent rock'n'roll. Of course similar musics would have sprung up without him. Elvis was Elvis before he'd ever heard of Chuck Berry.

Which events increased tensions between the Japan and the United States in the late 1930s? Select three options.
AfilCa [17]

Tensions between Japan and the United States grew in the late 1930s as a result of Japan's continued expansion into China and its joining of the Axis.

Why did Japan and the United States become tense in the late 1930s?

When the Japanese bombed the USS Panay as it was transporting American citizens out of Nanjing, tensions with Japan grew. Attack by Japan on China led to disagreements between Japan and the US in the late 1930s.

Therefore, we can conclude that the events that led to rising tensions between Japan and the United States in the late 1930s were Japan's continued expansion into China.

Therefore, options B and D are correct.

The questions have notes that tell you what area of the book the answer is in. my suggestion is to read the chapter. even if you cant find the answers through that, it will help you come test time. if you're not up for that, you can easily google these. there's most likely an answer key, but try to find them in the book first.
