Demographics is statistical data of a population. This can include how many people of each gender in a certain population, the occupations of the people, and basically anything that is statistical data.
They both have an say in things like legislative branch can declare war but the government which is the executive branch has a say in it too
In the case Schenck v. the United States the US Supreme Court ruled that it is acceptable for the government restricts information released by the press when the information is posted as a clear and present danger and may threaten national security for example.
