How important do you think the civil service system is to the overall organization and operation of the federal bureaucracy
Irina18 [472]
The civil service system is much better than the alternative, which was Patronage. as implemented by the Hoover Commission. Civil service sets employment competence standards for hiring and makes working a permanent career, not just until the next election. it was so outstandingly successful, that virtually every state and community government follows it to large extent.
I hope this helps :)

ASAP requirements of the second reconstruction act
jeka57 [31]

It established and clarified that the military commanders held responsibility to register voters and hold elections in their territories.

It required that every voter recite the registration oath promising their support to the constitution and their obedience to the law.

- met the need to deal with the many Southern office holders who had entered their post before the civil war, and so had not taken the oath of allegiance to the constitution. which disenfranchised these men.

At first, the ratification of the constitution required a majority of all registered voters. Now, only the majority of votes cast were needed to get the constitution ratified, which enabled the constitution to be ratified much more easily against the will of many ex-Confederates.

Why did Alexander the Great build temples in conquered lands?
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

Because he believed that the only way of creating prosperous Empire is by strengthening the culture and honoring the religious diversity of his country. He wanted to blend Greek culture with the Eastern cultures and that is why he built roads, temples, even cities.

Explanation:

Although Alexander The Great is mostly known as a great conqueror, he is also important because during his reign a new form of culture emerged, known to us as Hellenism. During that period many important artists, philosophers, historians, etc. were spreading the ideas of Alexander. It was  something never seen until then. They respected each others and their diversity.
