Most immigrants who passed through Ellis Island were European, but most who passed through Angel Island were Asian. What is the
myrzilka [38]
First, we will talk about the immigrants from Europe. Europe is located across the US with the Atlantic Ocean between them. Many Europeans that leave for the US travel to the west coast before boarding a ship that leads them to Ellis Island. Ellis Island is located in the upper part of New York Bay, and was one of the most busiest immigration inspection station.

Those from Asia, however, travel through the Pacific Ocean, and end up at Angel Island, located in the San Francisco Bay. San Francisco is located in California, in the west part of the US, and is the closest, most direct route from China to there, which meant that Asian immigrants landed at Angel Island instead of Ellis Island.

hope this helps

Explain how the location for Dr king's "I have a dream" speech might be significant
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

The place where he spoke, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, was quite significant to the message he was giving. DC is the capital of the U.S., which could've made it more of a well-known speech. DC is significant in the way of being home to a plethora of U.S. presidents makes the message of race that more loud. Additionally, it's a powerful move to have a speech about race in a country that was/kind of is racially rampant, and in terms of segregation, so powerful that a black man could stand at a prominent place in a large, known country in that point of time.
