Hey There!

What we want to do to find how many supply boxes can fit inside of the larger box is find the volume of the larger box and divide that by the volume of the supply boxes.

To find the volume of the supply boxes:

We are told that the supply box is in the shape of a cube.

<u>That being said we can find the volume by using this simple formula </u>

<u />V=s^3<u />

<u>where s = side length </u>

<u>The supply box has a side length of 4.5 so we just plug in 4.5 into the formula</u>

<u />V=4.5^3\\4.5*4.5*4.5=91.125<u />

<u>So we can conclude that the volume of the supply box is 91.125 square inches. </u>

Now to find the volume of the larger box.

The larger box is in the shape of a rectangular prism.

The volume of a rectangular prism can be found by multiply the width by the length by the height.

<u>The box has the following dimensions:</u>

<u>width = 18 in </u>

<u>height = 4.5 in</u>

<u>length = 9 in </u>

<u>This means that the volume = 9 * 4.5 * 18 </u>

<u>9 * 4.5 = 40.5</u>

<u>40.5 * 18 = 729. </u>

<u>so the volume of the larger box is 729 square inches. </u>

Now we want to find how many little boxes can fit inside the larger box.

Like stated before this can be done by dividing the volume of the little boxes by the volume of the larger box

so # of supply boxes that can fit inside of the larger box = \frac{729}{91.125}

<u>Using a calculator: </u>\frac{729}{91.125} =8<u />

<u>Hence, 8 smaller boxes can fit inside of the larger box </u>

Find the value of B - A if the graph of Ax + By = 3 passes through the point (-7,2), and is parallel to the graph of x + 3y = -5
Gnoma [55]

The required simplified value of B - A = -6.

<h3>What is simplification?</h3>

The process in mathematics to operate and interpret the function to make the function simple or more understandable is called simplifying and the process is called simplification.

Since, line Ax + By = 3 and x + 3y = -5 are parallel than slope of both the line will be same,
m = -1/3 = -A/B
From above
A = B/3  - - - - -(1)

Now line Ax + By = 3 passed through the point (-7, 2). So,
-7A + 2B = 3
from equation 1
-7B/3 + 2B = 3
-B/3 = 3
B = -9
Now put B in equation 1
A = -9 / 3
A = -3

Here,
B - A = -9 + 3 = -6

Thus, the required simplified value of B - A = -6.
