Answer:

I love living in the new colony because I have all this fertile soil, land, transportation systems, roads, and rivers. We also get protection against Native American attacks. But there are also challenges. In 1822 a drought destroyed my crops and a lot of the colonists that I knew returned to the US.Land-grabbing settlers also came without getting surveyed. But the worst part was the raiding from the Karankawas and Tonkawas in Central Texas.

Answer:

this is my original answer, do not copy or edge will get mad :D

Explanation:

We just moved into Stephen Fuller Austin's colony, it was one of the best decisions I have made. Here we had cheap land that was suitable for farming. The main problem is to get the land and settle there. Austin wanted us to become Mexican citizens, convert to Christianity, and work harder than usual. But even though we have these hardships, there was no other choice. With the U.S. in the Great Depression, it was hard to make a living there. Then, after Austin left to work out business, the Karankawa  were raiding our settlement. Eventually, he came back and we got revenge on the Natives, and ever since then both sides have been peaceful. Austin's colony was full of unexpected surprises and challenges, but overall it is a wonderful place to live and work.
