Because his father wasn't much of a dad and his mom died. He was on the streets at age 10, bragging about the fact that he got arrested for the 1st time, and he got arrested a lot after that. He couldn't seem to find his way and didn't like his life. He broke law just because he wanted to show that "he didn't care if there was a law or not."
