After Britain won the war they were heavily in debt, so they taxed the colonists. The colonists felt these laws were unfair, so this led to the Boston tea party AND the Boston massacre, which only escalated the tensions. Eventually this led to the shot heard around the world and finally open rebellion and the signing of the declaration of independence. Hope this helps.
