What is the theme of the story for the scarlet ibis
ipn [44]

Answer:

The theme of the story for the scarlet ibis is PRIDE.

Explanation:

The main theme of the story ‘’The Scarlet Ibis’’ by ‘’James Hurst’’ is Pride. Narrator’s Brother Doodle has a disability, so narrator is ashamed and embarrassed because of his brother. Such pride is harmful. He is so mean to his brother that he even thinks of killing him.

Instead of the encouraging his brother, he is ashamed of him and his own pride kills his brother. One day, they find a “scarlet ibis” in their yard. Since Doodle was sad, he buried it. During the storm when they were running back home, narrator ran ahead of his brother without caring about him. He got exhausted and died. He symbolises scarlet ibis who was buried.

WILL MARK BRAINIEST AND GIVING OUT A LOT OF POINTS!!!!!
riadik2000 [5.3K]

1. This shows that the average intelligence is not very smart. In the book, they make the very smart people dumber so that things can be "equal", which you will soon learn, or have learned already.

2. Equality and fairness are different and they got it mixed up. Equality is treating people the same, or viewing them as the same, no matter their circumstance, but fairness is making sure everyone is the EXACT same, like sharing a pizza, its only FAIR that, between two people, they each get four.

They have confused these concepts.

Hope this helps you out!!
