Solution :

a). $\text{Var} (X|Y) =E ((X-E(X|Y))^2 |Y)$

  Now, if X = Y, then :

  P(X|Y)=\left\{\begin{matrix} 1,& \text{if } x=y \\ 0, & \text{otherwise }\end{matrix}\right.

Then, E[X|Y] = x = y

So, $\text{Var} (X|Y) =E((X-X)^2 |Y)$

                      $=E(0|Y)$

                      = 0

Therefore, this statement is TRUE.

b). If X = Y , then Var (X) = Var (Y)

And as Var (X|Y) = 0, so Var (X|Y) ≠ Var (X), except when all the elements of Y are same.

So this statement is FALSE.

c). As defined earlier,

  $\text{Var} (X|Y) =E ((X-E(X|Y))^2 |Y=y)$

  So, this statement is also TRUE.

d). The statement is TRUE because $\text{Var} (X|Y) =E ((X-E(X|Y))^2 |Y=y)$.

e). FALSE

   Because, $\text{Var} (X|Y) =E ((X-E(X|Y=y))^2 |Y=y)$

It is given that -7, h, k, 20,... are the first 4 terms of an arithmetic progression.
dexar [7]

Answer:

the answer should be B

Step-by-step explanation:

the first part is basically finding the difference between the terms, as we know that d=T2-T1

so by comparing the T2-T1 and T3-T2 we can find the difference with the two variables h and k

afterwards do the same with T4-T3 and T3-T2, comparing them and you will get another equation

now that you have two equations, you can do simultaneous equation to get the answers

hope i helped :D

Answer:

1. Precise

2.Both

3.Precise

5.Neither

Step-by-step explanation:

Accuracy is the closeness of a measured value to a standard value.

Precision is the closeness of two or more measurements to each other.

1.The norm is 45 sit-ups in a minute. The students did, 64, 69,65 and 67. Values are not accurate compared to standard value 45.

Values are precise

Answer--Precise

2. Average score is 89.5

  Scores are 89,93,91,87

  Values are precise i.e a difference of 2 from each score

  Values are accurate because the average score is 90 thus compared to      the known average score of 89.5 they are accurate.

Answer-Both

3. Yesterday temperature=89

   Tomorrow=88

    Next day=90

   Average =75

   Values are precise i.e. difference of ± 1°

   Values are not accurate compared to the average temperatures of 75 F

   Answer---Precise

5. The jar contained 568 pennies

   The 6 people guessed the numbers as

    735,209,390,300,1005, 689

  The values are not precise

  The values are not accurate

  Answer---Neither

A ball is thrown from the top row of seats in a stadium. The function h(t)=-16t2+48t+160 gives the height, t, in feet, of the ba
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

t = 5 s

Step-by-step explanation:

The function that gives the height in feet of the ball t seconds after it is thrown is :

h(t)=-16t^2+48t+160

We need to find how long will it be before the ball hits the ground. When it hits the ground, its height will be equal to 0.

So,

-16t^2+48t+160=0

We need to solve this equation. When we solve, we get its solution as shown in the figure. We can see that t = -2 s and t = 5 s.

t = -2 s is not possible.

Hence, the ball will hit the ground before 5 seconds.

A circle has a radius of square root of 13 units and is centered at (-9.3,4.1) what is the equation of this circle
Crank

Answer:

  (x +9.3)^2 +(y -4.1)^2 = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form equation of a circle centered at (h, k) with radius r is ...

  (x -h)^2 +(y -k)^2 = r^2

Putting your numbers into this form gives ...

  (x -(-9.3))^2 +(y -4.1)^2 = (√13)^2

  (x +9.3)^2 +(y -4.1)^2 = 13
