Answer:

C. The two statements agree in point of truth or falsehood in virtue of their logical structure alone, i.e. the two statement are true or false in exactly the same conditions.

Step-by-step explanation:

For two statements to be logically equivalent, their truth values (true or false) must be the same for every variation of their constituent variables. In other words, if the truth tables of both statements are the same for every possible value of their variables, then they are logically equivalent.

For example;

The two statements P ∩ (Q U R) and (P ∩ Q) ∪ (P ∩ R) are logically equivalent.

If P, Q and R are all true, then;

P ∩ (Q U R) = true

(P ∩ Q) ∪ (P ∩ R) = true

If P, Q and R are all true, then;

P ∩ (Q U R) = false

(P ∩ Q) ∪ (P ∩ R) = false

If P = false, Q = true and R = true, then;

P ∩ (Q U R) = false

(P ∩ Q) ∪ (P ∩ R) = false

Checking for all other possible combinations of truth values of P, Q and R will always give the same results for the two statements, therefore, they are logically equivalent.

Serena paid $194.99 for a game system and then bought two equally price games. If she spent a total of $284.97, what is the pric
Blizzard [7]

Answer:

44.99

Step-by-step explanation:

284.97(total cost) - 194.99(system cost) = 89.98(money spent on games) / 2(total games) = 44.99 = 44.99 spent per game.

Harry had $32. He spent all the money buying three notebooks for x dollars each and four packs of index cards for y dollars each
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

x = notebooks

y = indexboks

3x+4y=32 ( here is spent all money so I add 32 here )

5x+5y=50

by elemination method

3x+4y=32×5

5x+5y=50×4 ( here I'm going to eliminate y )

15 x+20y= 160

20x+20y= 200

- - = -

____________

-5x = -40

x = - 40 / -5

x = 8

here - × - = + so iam taking positive 8

now substitute the value of x in any equation

3×8+4y = 32

24 + 4y = 32

4y = 32-24

y = 8 / 4

y = 2

CHECKING

SUBSTITUTE BOTH VALUES IN ANY EQUATION

5×8+5×2 = 50

40 + 10 = 50

50 = 50

I SUBSTITUTE IN 2ND EQUATION

Explain why a trapezoid is a quadrilateral but a quadrilateral is not always a trapezoid.
Triss [41]
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral because it has 4 sides. A quadrilateral is not always a trapezoid because a quadrilateral can be any shape as long as it has four sides.

I may not make sense but I hoped this helped! :)

The diagonal braces in a fire tower are 26 ft long
kogti [31]

Answer:

The height each brace reaches vertically is 10 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

h -----> the height each brace reaches vertically in feet

d ----> the diagonal braces in feet

x ----> the horizontal distance in feet

Applying the Pythagoras Theorem

d^2=h^2+x^2

we have

d=26\ ft\\x=24\ ft

substitute

26^2=h^2+24^2

Solve for h

h^2=26^2-24^2

h^2=100

h=10\ ft

therefore

The height each brace reaches vertically is 10 feet
