A decrease in biodiversity can cause a large chain reaction within the ecosystem. A loss of species can be detrimental, especially if they're key stone species. This negative impact can cause the food chain to be disrupted which ends up affecting every organism within the environment. Every organism plays a role within the ecosystem and when one or more are removed it causes extreme disarray.
