Graph the function f(x)= 5x^5 + 4x^4 - 4x^3 - 7x^2 +6 by making a table of values.
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

You can see the graph in the attached file.

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to propouse values of x, and substitue into the equation to get the corresponding value of y. In other words you need to evaluate the function for each value of x. With those values you can build the table.

For  example choose the value x = 0, then you can calculate the value of y:

f(x) = 5x^{5}  +4x^{4}  - 4x^{3}  -7x^{2} +6

f(0) = 5(0)^{5}  +4(0)^{4}  - 4(0)^{3}  -7(0)^{2} +6

f(0) = 6

Then when x = 0, y = 6

The coordinates for the graph (x, y) = (0, 6)

For the table choose different values, include: zero, negative and positive numbers.

x y

x = f(x)=

-20 -15330794

-15 -3582444

-10 -456694

-5 -12794

-1 2

0 6

1 4

5 17456

10 535306

15 3984306

20 16605206

Review the attached excel file, there you will see the table and how to do the calculations in the cell.

Once you have the values in the chart, select the data. Then from the bar choose insert and then select the xy scatter.

Also you can see the graph in the file.

If ON=8x*8, LM=7x+4, NM=x-5, and OL=3y-6, find the values of x and y for which LMNO must be a parallelogram. The diagram is not
lana66690 [7]
ON = 8x • 8
LM = 7x + 4
NM = x - 5
OL = 3y - 6

OL is congruent & parallel to NM
LM is congruent & parallel to ON

So,
8x \times 8 = 7x + 4
Simplify
64x = 7x + 4
subtract 7x from both sides
57x = 4
divide 57 from both sides
x =  \frac{4}{57}
Substitute x into equations
8x \times 8 = 7x + 4 =  4  \frac{28}{57}

3y - 6 = x - 5
3y - 6 = 4 \frac{28}{57}  - 5
3y - 6 =  -  \frac{28}{57}
NM & OL = -28/57
ON & LM = 4 + (28/57)

NEED HELP FAST FOR TEST!!!
ozzi
I'm not just going to give you that answer, i'm going to teach you how to do it for yourself. this is a function. what you do first is look at what the question is asking you, it's asking you to solve the function, when the value of x are as follows: -2, 1, 2. start with the easiest number, 1, and plug it in for x in each equation.

5• (1)^2 + 0
10• (1)^2 + 0

then set each equation equal to zero

5 • (1)^2 + 0 = 0
10 • (1)^2 + 0 = 0

now solve each equation. make sure the value value you get for the first equation is a negative number, because the question demands that by giving you "x<1"

complete the same steps for each other value to get the answers. hope this helps.
