PLEASE I NEED YOU TO EXPLAIN THIS THOROUGHLY TO GET BRAINLIEST ANSWER! Explain the pun "well, bob it for me" from The Shakespear
liq [111]
As you said above, the word "bob" means fencing and you want to know how this can have a double meaning related to homophobes.
This is what I see the 2 meanings as:
1. fencing, as in taking out your fencing sword
2. take out your penis, as penis would be another word for sword in plays/books such as the one you're reading - this would be relating to gays if the convo was btwn 2 men

Which statement about novels is true?
LenKa [72]

The correct answer is D. They use narrative techniques to reveal the human experience in a complex and multifaceted way.

A is incorrect because that refers to drama and plays, rather than novels. B is incorrect because this refers to poetry, not prose. C is incorrect because not all novels have to be organized and logical. Therefore, the correct answer is D - novels tend to explore their characters in many ways so as to depict realism from the actual world.

What type of punctuation is necessary to set apart nonessential appositive phrases?
Talja [164]

commas, dashes, or parentheses

Nonessential appositive phrases can be separated from the rest of a sentence in three ways—with commas, with dashes, or with parentheses. Let’s look at example sentences that essentially mean the same thing:

The best pet in the world, a dog, will always be known as “man’s best friend.”

The best pet in the world—a dog—will always be known as “man’s best friend.”

The best pet in the world (a dog) will always be known as “man’s best friend.”
