Coral reefs can be damaged or destroyed by _____.
arlik [135]

Coral reef destruction is caused of course by climate change, responsible for our warmer oceans. Corals cannot survive if the water temperature is too high. Higher water temperatures is the main reason behind the death of nearly half of the Great Barrier Reef’s corals.

Urban and industrial waste and oil pollution from shipping are poisoning reefs too – some pollutants, such as sewage and runoff from farming increase the level of  nitrogen in seawater, causing an overgrowth of algae, which smothers reefs by cutting off their sunlight.

Why do many historians regard the printing press as the most important invention of the past millennium? [ Please be completely
Olenka [21]

Answer:

Many historians consider the printing press as the most important invention in history because from its creation it allowed the development and expansion of knowledge through the printing of books. Until that moment, knowledge, science and other theories that generated technological, economic, political and social development could not be broadly transmitted, because the books were written by hand by the monks, who exercised a kind of censorship over any question that was against religious principles.

For this reason, the printing press removed the monopoly on knowledge from religion, while increasing the ease of transmitting said knowledge, exponentially increasing the speed of human development.

The Puritans had a religious lifestyle devoted to the Bible, but that same lifestyle was a hypocritical one that ultimately led to the decline of their society.
