You can assume that the location of the South American cities is near the coast because of terrain. South America is known for its rainforests and the mountain range along Chile. You can also assume that the cities are usually near the coast because of money (tourism, shipping, etc) there are not many cities in the inland areas of South America.
C. Somalia
All of the other countries listed have pretty stable governments in place whereas in Somalia a lot of it is ungoverned or under anarchy.
Geospatial technology like GPS, GIS Google Earth, Lidar etc for example answer the question of where are both natural and artificial features located on the surface of the earth and what is their relationship ie of the natural features like segments of an esker for example or of mining of an esker to show the extent of the mining. This information is good for planning of say future mining, of constructing new buildings, pipelines, roads ie infrastructure. Geospatial technology can aid in the understanding of the landscape but cannot determine, for example where exactly an orebody exists, ie one that is buried under the ground, for this other means must be sought like exploration drilling, trenching etc.
