We have always had rules in our house regarding internet use and safety that is progressivelly more lax as we get older. One should always be safe when using the internet. Internet safety is vital to ensure that your identiy is protected, you do not get personal information stolen, and that you are not at risk for being kidnapped. Yes, to a certain extent, parents shoudl monitor what kids and teens are doing on the internet. It is often necessary for parents to monitor their children to ensure their safety,. that they are not being bullied or doing the bullying themsleves .It is also important for parents to ensure that teens are not making risky deicsions while on the internet like sennding inapropiate pictures.

I have always had rules regarding the internet which rules deceases as we get older. I do think safety precautions should be taken away when using the internet because having those rules is safer than being allowed to do as you like. I don’t really think parents should monitor what they’re child is doing because as they are to grow older they’ll want to have privacy and if a parent were to be to protective I can lead to the child having some type of mental issue and not having such a great relationship with their parents.
