Read the excerpt from Silent Spring.
nikitadnepr [17]

The correct answer is C. The dawn chorus of robins

Explanation:

In speeches and texts, the term tone refers to the author has about the subject or theme the author is speaking or writing about, this tone is usually expressed by the choice of words the author makes to refer to a situation or topic. Because of this depending on the author and the topic he or she is addressing the tone is different.

In the excerpt presented which belongs to "Silent Spring" a book written by Rachel Carson that explores the negative effects of the pesticides on the environment, the author aims at explaining the way spring was full of sounds of different birds but those have disappeared leading to a negative spring. Considering the author attitude is negative towards the situation of the silent spring but positive towards the past the phrase with the most positive tone is "the dawn chorus of robins" as this phrase refers to the past in which the spring had a lot of voices including those of the robins, a type of bird, also, this is only phrase depicting a positive aspect rather than the silent spring the author seems as negative.

In Longfellow’s poem "The Village Blacksmith," Longfellow never gives a name to the blacksmith. By not naming the blacksmith, Lo
Ahat [919]

Answer:

My dad is like the village blacksmith.

The first and second verse of the poem, the writer describes the physical attributes of the blacksmith.

Then in verse 3, the blacksmith's innate qualities of consistency, and hard work are unravelled.

This is very typical of my dad who though is a farmer never slips up on his work and always keeps his promise.

Another quality of the blacksmith that I see in my dad is found in verse 5. It reads that the blacksmith sits amongst the boys on Sunday, connoting that he is a Christian.

My dad, same as the blacksmith not only goes to church on Sunday. He prays and teaches us to do the same.

He is quite inclined towards God. I guess it's because much like the blacksmith who from steel forges various kinds of tools and shapes objects, He recognises that many of the things around us too were "forged" by a Superior Blacksmith.

Cheers!

I need 3 paragraphs of a compare and contrast of The Fall of the House of Usher and House Taken Over (If you can add an intro an
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

The location was comparable in Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher" and Julio Cortazar's "House Taken Over," because they both took place in a scary house. In Poe's story, though, the backdrop is a frightening, almost abandoned home. Cortazar's setting, on the other hand, takes place in a large, spotless house. Gothic literature is a type of literature that is set in the past, usually with a character who dies and a scary tone. The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe is a good example of Gothic literature since it depicts a guy visiting an old friend and seeing the deaths of his companion and his twin sister.

Because Iirene and her brother hear odd noises and are terrified by them, they leave portions of the home and never return until they have fully left the house in Julio Cortazar's " House Taken Over." “We didn't stop to look around; I grabbed Iirene's arm and forced her to run with me,” says the narrator. This scenario illustrates how Irene and her brother heard weird noises and assumed the worst, fleeing from something unexpected. As a result, “The House Taken Over” is an example of Magical Realism since it features an unnatural power that exists on Earth and interacts with ordinary individuals like Irene and her brother.
