well i did a little bit of research and found some new things out for the first thing it said that st. patrick was the saint of the island althought his name wasnt actually patrick lol and that we actually celebrate his death not his birth

and as for the leprechauns their an old folkore tail that is said to be as important as the saint himself it also adds more fun into the holiday aswell
