A. all systems of writing begin with common characters that are developed independently.

B. Cultural diffusion provides a way for the spread of ideas between civilizations over time.

C. The Phoenician alphabet became the basis for all written language and influenced Canaanite writing.

D. The greek alphabet is the basis for Phoenician writing and it spread through cultural diffusion.

Answer:

C. The Phoenician alphabet became the basis for all written language and influenced Canaanite writing.

Explanation:

The correct answer is "The Phoenician alphabet became the basis for all written language and influenced Canaanite writing." This is because

The Phoenician alphabet sometimes referred to as Proto-Canaanite script, was originated in the Sinai Peninsula around the 15th century BC to describe the Egyptian hieroglyphs.

It is generally regarded as the father of most modern alphabets, such as Greek, Latin (in which the English Language evolved from), and some others.

What does the quote "time is to history as space is to geography" mean
TEA [102]

The comparison implies each statement is as poignant as the other:-

'time is history' - every moment of time (seconds, minutes etc) passes and we cannot reclaim it, the best we can do is reflect and as we do, our understanding grows...

hence the similarity in

'space is to geography' - again, we have no control in the understanding - what we think we understand grows bigger/wider and more confusing every time we study it.

Happenings (time and space) grow bigger, more distant and more fascinating constantly, we have no control over it and must accept it .

hope that helps :-)

Describe the history of the us being known as a country that promotes the free exercise of religion
blsea [12.9K]
United States have always been a country where people went to avoid religious prosecution. This was the case for example even with the first pilgrims who went to the colonies. When there was religious prosecution in the US itself, the British Crown formed new colonies for those who were of different religious beliefs. After the US were formed, the first amendment guaranteed a right to religion and prevented the government from ever establishing its own religion or supporting any.

Why were fascist leaders so appealing after world war 1?
butalik [34]
Most fascist dictators were nationalists who not only promised to their country recover from the Great War but to lead their country to greater heights and the did indeed stay true to those promises. Not to mention the amount of propaganda that raised the dictator’s image to god like heights to the point some people basically worshiped them.
