Answer:

i think,the lcm of x+2 and x-5 is x+2 and x-5 so multiply through by it

(x+2)(x-5)×2/x+2=(x+2)(x-5)×1/x-5

so is 2(x-5)=1(x+2)

then remove bracket by multiplying

2×x-2×5=1×x+1×2

2x-10=x+2

collect like terms

2x-x=10-2

x=8

An 8.5-meter ladder is leaning against a vertical wall. How many meters is its base from the wall if the ladder reaches 7.5 mete
Monica [59]

Answer:

  4 m

Step-by-step explanation:

The geometry is that of a right triangle with hypotenuse 8.5 m and one side of length 7.5 m. If "b" represents the distance from the base of the ladder to the wall, the Pythagorean theorem tells us ...

  b² + 7.5² = 8.5²

  b² + 56.25 = 72.25

  b² = 16 . . . . . . . . . . . . . subtract 56.25

  b = 4 . . . . meters . . . (take the square root)

The base of the ladder is 4 m from the wall.

_____

You may recognize this as the 8-15-17 Pythagorean triple, scaled by 1/2.

How many 5 digit codes are possible if the first digit cannot be 0 and digits can be repeated?
Darya [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Zip codes with 5 digits (all five digits can be repeated): 10^5=100,000 if first digit is 0, its no longer 5-digit right? Zip codes with no digit being repeated: 10*9*8*7*6=30,240 if first digit is 0, its no longer 5-digit right? Zip codes with at least one digit being repeated: 90000-27216 = 62784 ?N
