Answer: 27 < 5*X + 7 and 4 < X

Explanation: This is an example of phrased mathematics, let's break it into parts:

"twenty seven is smaller than..."

this is easy, is written as:

27 < ....

"five times a number increased by seven"

here we have 5 times a number, this means a number X multiplied by 5, and after that we increase that number by 7

5*X + 7

putting all togheter, we have:

27 < 5*X + 7

now we can even solve it for X,

first, subtract 7 in both sides.

27 - 7 < 5*X + 7 - 7

20 < 5*X

now, divide by 5 in both sides:

20/5 = 4 < 5*X/5 = X

then we have that 4 < X

Which of these scientists is best known for his idea that characteristics an individual gains in its lifetime could be passed on
Anna [14]
This was Lamarck's idea. Here's an example: Suppose giraffes originally had short necks that they stretched to reach high-up leaves in the trees. This continuous stretching of the neck was passed onto offspring, who as a result had slightly longer necks. This continued for multiple generations until we get today's long-necked giraffe. Lamarck was on to something (that something being evolution by natural selection, which Darwin discovered), but his theory wasn't completely correct since organisms can only pass on genes (segments of DNA that code for a characteristic or function) to their offspring. Since "stretching" would not code into DNA, it wouldn't be passed onto offspring, proving Lamarck's theory incorrect.

During synaptic transmission:______.
Alona [7]

Answer:

<h2>B</h2>

Explanation:

During synaptic transmission, the neurotransmitters are released from the pre-synaptic membrane and are released in the gap between pre and post synaptic membrane. These neurotransmitters are bind with receptors in the post-synaptic membrane and are absorbed and they change the membrane potential in post synaptic cell.

if u were a scientist examining the DNA sequence of the two unknown organisms that you hypothesize share a common ancestor, what
xxMikexx [17]
All organisms share a common ancester: humans share a common ancestor with E. coli; E. coli share a common ancestor with an oak tree; humans share a common ancestor with an oak tree.

<span>If I hypothesized the two organisms shared a recent common ancestor, they I would predict that their genomes would be highly similar. For example, their genomes would contain about the same number of bases, and the base sequences (especially of protein-coding genes) would be highly identical.</span>
