Lawrence Kohlberg given a theory of morality. His theory says that level of moral  reasoning changes at different stages. He proposed three levels that include pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional moral development and each level divided into two stages.

Kohlberg's theory of moral development is good because it shows that moral development is a result of cognitive conflicts at stages. His moral theory prevent people from reacting on unchecked urges and helps them to understand right and wrong in the society.
