Though this may lean a little more toward the beginning of the Classical era, many Baroque artists were employed by royalty and often wrote chamber music. Bach wrote a new piece about every other week for chamber music. Opera was also on the rise as well, the most famous of the Baroque period was the Coronation of Poppea.
