Can you tell me anything about what the water was like in the 1700-1900's?
Valentin [98]
I could only say "pure", think about it.......the water we are drinking from our faucets now has been ran through a treatment plant. In plain words you and I are drinking RECYCLED water! In the olden days, you either got your water directly from a spring, creek or well you knew was pure or a swamp of sorts and would purify the water via distillation Our water now days has ALL KINDS of pollution including recycled SEWAGE!!!!!!!!.

The following quotes relate to different aspects of the Columbian Exchange. They discuss the impact of the exchange on indigenou
fgiga [73]

The continent of Africa benefitted least from the Columbian Exchange. Despite receiving goods, weapons, and other valuable resources from Europe, millions of Africans were enslaved. The enslavement of Africans caused significant damage to the social and economic structure of the continent.

Europe benefitted the most from the Columbian Exchange. This continent received foods that became staples in their diet including potatoes. Along with this, Europeans also recieved tobacco from the New World. Tobacco was a popular substance used by Europeans due to this trade. Lastly, European countries got to spread their power to a completely new continent, allowing them to gain new natural resources never seen before.

Which of the following best describes serfs?
Sveta_85 [38]

Correct answer is: C. The lowest-level vassal in a feudal system.

Under Feudalism, there was a peasant status called Serfdom.  Serfs were bound and tied to the land, if sold they came with it. It was not slavery itself, but under the feudalism they were definitely the lowest form of "tenant" of the land.
