Answer:

To test the hardness of a specimen take it and try to scratch it with the first rock in your hardness kit, Talc. If it is scratched then the rock you're testing is hardness 1. If not then try to scratch the Talc with your rock. If the rock scratches the Talc then it is harder than the Talc.

~+ lil more info +~

nstead, common objects are used as tools to perform the hardness test:

fingernail (hardness = 2.5)

copper penny (hardness = 3)

glass plate or steel knife (hardness = 5.5)

steel file (hardness = 6.5)

Will a wound will take a longer time to heal if an individual is lack of carbohydrate?
mezya [45]

Answer:

Carbohydrates Role in the body:

Glucose is necessary in wound healing for a number of reasons. These include: Providing energy for leucocytes and macrophages (white blood cells). Stimulates fibroblast growth etc

Wound healing implicates several biological and molecular events, such as coagulation, inflammation, migration-proliferation, and remodeling. Here, we provide an overview of the effects of malnutrition and specific nutrients on this process, focusing on the beneficial effects of curcumin. We have summarized that protein loss may negatively affect the whole immune process, while adequate intake of carbohydrates is necessary for fibroblast migration during the proliferative phase.

Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide. Explain how this
Olegator [25]

Answer: Carbon Monoxide is a very harmful and toxic gas which is formed from incomplete combustion of carbon.

Explanation: red blood cells contain haemoglobin ,which are responsible for carrying oxygen into our body system. So oxygen combines with haemagoblin to form oxyhaemogoblin in the red blood cells .

so if a person starts to intake cigarettes which contain high amounts of carbon monoxide ,it reduces oxyhaemogoblin formation because it binds very tightly to the haemogoblin .then carboxyhaemogoblin is formed and its permanent so causing reduction in aerobic respiration, and reduction in oxygen transport and causing damages to heart muscles.

Hope this helps if you need any more explanation feel free to comment in the comment section below !!!
