History

Answer:

Explanation:

⏺️The lives of women during colonial times were different than from today. Women were expected to get married, have children, work in the home, and obey their husbands.

⏺️Despite the limitations put on women, they played an important role in the growth and survival of the American colonies. In many ways, it was the backbreaking hard work of women that the United States was built upon.

⏺️Most women received very little formal education. Although some learned to read and write, many were illiterate. Girls typically learned the skills needed to manage a home from their mother. It was thought that a woman didn't need an education as she was supposed to work in the home.

⏺️Colonial women had few legal rights or freedom. They were expected to obey the man in their life whether it was their father, brother, or husband. Women were not allowed to vote or hold public office.

⏺️A married woman's legal identity was represented by her husband. They could be beaten by their husbands and even forcibly returned to their husbands if they tried to run away. Married women could not make a will or own property.

⏺️Widows and unmarried women had more rights than married women. They were allowed to buy and sell property, make a will, and sign a contract. Widows received one-third of their husband's property when he died. Sometimes widows took over the husband's business.

⏺️The main job of the woman during colonial times was to manage the home. They were responsible for raising the children, cooking meals, sewing clothes, weaving cloth, and keeping the house in order.

Write three sentences contrasting the Federalist and Anti-Federalist viewpoints on separation of powers in the Constitution.
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
Federalists' beliefs could be better described as nationalist. The Federalists were instrumental in 1787 in shaping the new US Constitution, which strengthened the national government at the expense of the states and people.

Anti-Federalism refers to a movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution. The previous constitution, called the Articles of Confederation, gave state governments more authority.

1) Why is Francis Marion writing to Peter Horry?
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

Actually, this post or letter illustrates the daily or day-to-day happenings of “Marion’s Men.” Marion wrote this letter to Colonel Peter Horry, his subordinate, after General Gate’s defeat at Camden. “Marion’s Men,” were not there or present at the battle since they were out destroying enemy transportation and lines of communication , a specialty of his troops. While working this letter, he was retreating from Camden to Lynch’s Creek in present day Kershaw Country. The letter contains news of Marion’s recent accomplishments and includes an inventory of British troops and supplies captured. Marion expresses a need for more ammunition, arms, horses and supplies. While short on supplies throughout much of the war, Marion and his men effectively frustrated British actions as the Patriots struggled to hold on to South Carolina.

What kind of diet did the Greeks have? How do you
know?
8_murik_8 [283]
The Greek diet was very healthy. Food in Ancient Greece consisted of grains, wheat, barley, fruit, veggies, breads and cake. They also grew olives, grapes, figs, wheat and kept goats for milk and cheese. In the summer months they would east lots of fish and squid. From what I can tell they were pescatarian . Because their diets did not consist of meat, but rather fish. They felt killing and eating domesticated animals was wrong.

Pescatarian diet.
