What are some different situations in which Bilbo's ring helps him out of a jam? Does the ring make Bilbo tougher than he really
sladkih [1.3K]
The first situation in which he used it to get himself out of a jam was when he was escaping from the cave in which he met smeagol, who we know is intensely aggressive when it comes to the ring. He slipped the ring on and it made him seemingly disappear. Another, much more trivial situation was when he bid everyone farewell at his birthday party basically as a show stopper (but also to avoid the judging eyes and boring personalities of his fellow hobbits).

The ring does not make Bilbo tougher, if anything, it makes him weaker. The power of the ring breaks him down mentally and physically.

Determine whether each passage is an argument, explanation, or something else entirely. If it contains an argument, identify its
vivado [14]

The passages mentioned are not listed in the question. I will give a clear distinction between arguments and explanations, the knowledge of this will help in providing answers to the question.

An explanation is an attempt to provide a cause or reason for a conclusion. It helps to provide reasons why a conclusion is made.

For example in the conclusion, "John will fail his exam", the writer can give a simple explanation to support his claim.

"The reason why i believe John will fail his exam is that he has not prepared well enough for it." is a simple explanation to support the above conclusion.

An argument is an attempt to provide an evidence in support of a conclusion.

This is done when the response of your audience is that of doubt an unbelief.
