The United States under Ford and Carter

Watergate seriously eroded public confidence in government, and the task of Nixon's successors was to restore that confidence. Faith in Washington was not easily regained, especially when, after just a month in office, Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for any crimes he may have committed while he was president. Although the pardon was intended to put the Watergate scandal behind the nation, many saw it as politics as usual. Jimmy Carter's ensuing promise never to lie to the American people helped to get him elected, but he did not work well with Congress and lacked the leadership the country needed.

Why entitlements are known as the "Third Rail of American Politics
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

The third rail of a nation's politics is a metaphor for any issue so controversial that it is "charged" and "untouchable" to the extent that any politician or public official who dares to broach the subject will invariably suffer politically. The metaphor comes from the high-voltage third rail in some electric railway systems.

Why was inner china more attractive that outer china? I need two specific physical features
Ivanshal [37]
Inner China was more attractive because of two physical lanforms; the North China Plain and the Chang Jiang Basins. Outer China had harsher landforms, like deserts and the Himalayas. Inner China contained rivers and land suitable for farming, whereas outer China was missing the feature.
