Answer:

In my own opinion, I think it did. The reason being that the French Revolution was primarily due to the growing discontent among the lower classes due to heavier taxation to relieve French debts after the Seven Years War and American Revolution. Unfortunately, the nobles of France were wholly unsympathetic and Louis XVI insisted on keeping a stagnant form of feudalism and inefficient assembly known as the Estates-General. And Continued unrest followed after the storming of the Bastille which then compelled the king to back down and eventually come to Paris to accept a Tricolor Cockade that signified his willingness to back reform. In 1789 the National Constituent Assembly did away with feudalism. The 1791 Constitution helped to remove many of the privileges the Church and nobility had that made them exempt from taxation and other social responsibilities. It also formed a constitutional monarchy where the king had to share his power with the legislature. Then in 1792, it all went away.
