The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The changes that took place in the life of the average American woman between the end of World War I and the end of World War II were considerable and defined the role of women in the decades to come.

Men were drafted to enroll in the military to go to the war, that is why women had to start working as workers in the industries of America because many things were produced to help the war effort.

We are talking about weaponry, military vehicles, tanks, and supplies that were sent to the war front in Europe. For most women, it was the first time they leave the family environment and started to work in the industries and companies of America.

The role of women had been limited to a "mother" raising children and some other basic activities. But the war changed this. Women had to procure for the family while men were abroad, at the war front.
