Solve the equation. Round to the nearest thousandth. -12e^-x + 8 = 7

Mathematics

- 12 {e}^{ - x }  + 8 = 7  \\  - 12 {e}^{x}  =  - 1 \\  {e}^{ - x}  =  \frac{ - 1}{ - 12} \\  {e}^{ - x}  =  \frac{1}{12}  \\

taking e to the other side will equal ln , bringing -x down

- x =  ln( \frac{1}{12}) \\ x =  -  ln( \frac{1}{12} )

insert this in your calculator, you will get :

x = 2.484906... \\

rounding off to nearest thousand :

x = 2.485

hope this helps...

WHATS THE AREA OF THE TRAPIZOID?!
Helen [10]

Answer: 45.. i think.

Step-by-step explanation: I couldn't really get the measurements from this photo so here is what I got. I used the formula A=a+b over 2 times h. I used 7=a, b=11,h=5. I added 7 and 11 to get 18, then divide that by 2, which equals 9. Then 9 times 5 = 45. I hope this somewhat helps.

khan academy is giving me only this explanation but won't go into detail and I cannot understand it for the life of me. how do I
Setler [38]

Answer:

12 - 4i

Step-by-step explanation:

-2i ( 2+6i)

Distribute

-2i * 2 + -2i *6i

-4i - 12 i^2

We know that i^2 = -1 so replace it

-4i - 12(-1)

-4i + 12

Then put in the order a+bi  where the real number comes first and the imaginary number comes last

12 - 4i
