Answer:

During the Holocaust millions of Jews were kept in cages, starved, and worked until they died. But most of the Jews died in the gas chambers. The Nazis would lur them in the gas chambers, by promising them that it was just a big shower. The gas chambers were filled with screams and crying to help them get out alive, but sadly within minutes all the Jews that were in the gas chambers died. It was said that the Nazis would use bits and pieces of their dead bodies, and make it into soap, and sometimes even put it in their food. (History.gov)

Why does Hitler hate Jews so much? Antisemitism was the reason. (Anne Frank house.gov) while There is no clear reason, all I found out was, Hitler just hated Jews and thought that Germans were superior, when he was not even German, he was Austrian. Hitler was a horrible person, he thought it was okay to kill 6 million Jews just because they have a different religion, and do not have blonde hair and blue eyes.

The thang that the Van Daan family and the Frank family had to go through was just horrible. First off, they had to stay in a dark basement, with barely and food and barely and water. their family: s was in hiding for two years, until one day the Nazis raided the building, they were hiding in margrot Frank and Anne frank were taken to a camp. Anne and Margot Frank were spared immediate death in the Auschwitz gas chambers and instead were sent to Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp in northern Germany. In February 1945, the Frank sisters died of typhus at Bergen-Belsen; their bodies were thrown into a mass grave. but if someone did not snitch on them this would have probably not happened so early. For decades suspicion centered on a man called Willem Van Maaren, who worked in the warehouse attached to the Franks' hiding place. But two police investigations - one immediately after the war and another in the 1960s - turned up nothing and Van Maaren died in 1971 professing his innocence.

In conclusion, Anne Frank's father, Otto, was the only member of the group to survive; he was liberated from Auschwitz by Soviet troops on January 27, 1945. He died at the age of 91. The is a very sad topic to think about, because this a real thing that happened in history. Hitler died in 1945 at the age of 56. The Frank family, and the Van Daan family went through a very bad time in history, and just Jews in general. The Jewish people did not deserve to live like that or die like that.

Why does the author of passage 2 describe a student council meeting in the first paragraph?
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

skimming the passage, we’ll find “some critics” mentioned in the third sentence. Indeed, this sentence actually continues to advance Bigsby’s view mentioned in the previous sentence (that Hansberry’s work has “unintentional” irony” that the author seems to reject (stating that we should accept her irony as “deliberate social commentaries”). This third sentence continues to elaborate and broaden the critical view to other critics. The next sentence contains the words “for example,” so that must be the one, right?! Nope. This is the trap; the question specifically mentioned “examples” ad does this fourth sentence of the paragraph, but the “examples” need to refute this view, and the example in the fourth sentence is an example of the critical view the author disagreed with.

Explanation:

An important thing to keep in mind about the Reading Comprehension section of the GRE as we use PowerPrep online to study is that it is just that—reading comprehension. In other words, as difficult as it may seem, and it can be pretty tricky, the test makers will always give us all the information we need in the passage to answer the question. Select-in-passage questions, like number 8 on the second Verbal section of practice test 1, may look different than other questions, but they abide by the same rule.

Select-in-passage questions are unique to the GRE, but that shouldn’t scare us. In fact, a good thing about them is that we can approach each one the same way: we need to read the question carefully in order to find out what criteria our sentence needs to meet. Then, we need to search the passage for a sentence that fits that criteria—ok, admittedly this is sometimes more easily said than done, but we should keep in mind that our question may even give us extra clues as to where to look.
