The line that is parallel to this line will have the same slope of this line, as the two will never intersect. They will run side by side. The line y = 2x - 5 is written in slope-intercept form, which is y = mx + b. The value of m represents the slope, and in this equation m = 2. Therefore, the line we are looking for will have a slope of 2 also.

That line should also be in slope-intercept form. We now know the value of m, but we also know the value of x and y. The ordered pair (8, 10) is a point on the line, and every ordered pair is in the form (x, y). Therefore, x = 8 and y = 10. We can plug those values into y = mx + b, along with m = 2. That gives us:

10 = 2(8) + b We need to solve for b.

10 = 16 + b

b = -6

34699 to nearest ten thousand
xz_007 [3.2K]

Ones place: 9

Tens place: 9

Hundreds place: 6

Thousands place: 4

Ten thousands place: 3

Which is 34,699

Now that we know 3 is in the ten thousand's place.

So then go from 3, and jump too 4. If the number is higher then 5, the 3 would become a 4. If the number is lower then 5, 4 would become a 0 and so will the rest of the number's too the right.

34,699 ---> 30,000

That being said, the answer is 30,000!

I hope this help's! :)

Hi there!

\large\boxed{a = 6 m/s^{2}}

Use the kinematic equation to solve for acceleration:

a = \frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{t}

Where:

vf = final velocity

vi = initial velocity

t = time

Plug in the given values:

a = \frac{65-35}{5}\\\\a = 30 / 5  \\\\=6 m/s^{2}

Which choice shows the result of substituting 3x – 5 into the second equation for y?
ahrayia [7]

Answer:  The answer is (B) 2x + 3(3x – 5) = 51 .

Step-by-step explanation:  We are given three options and we are to select which choice shows the result of substituting 3x – 5 into the second equation for y.

So, y = 3x - 5.

Since the standard form of a linear equation i two variables is ax + by = c, so the second equation as given in the options must be of the form 2x + 3y = 51.

If we substitute y = 3x - 5, then this equation becomes

2x + 3(3x - 5) = 51.

Thus, (B) 2x + 3(3x – 5) = 51  is the correct option.
