The correct answer is The alligator slipped quietly into the water.

A blank introduces a dependent clause in a complex sentence
melamori03 [73]
A subordinating conjunction introduces a dependent clause in a complex sentence.
Here is an example:
I checked my emails when I arrived home.
The clause I checked my emails is independent, and when I arrived home is dependent, and it starts with a subordinating conjunction when.

What best describes how “Ain’t I a women?” Related to the time period in which truth lived
ki77a [65]

Sojourner Truth delivered her Ain`t I a Woman? speech in 1851 at the Women's Rights Convention in Akron, Ohio. Her short, simple speech was a powerful rebuke to many antifeminist arguments of the day. It became, and continues to serve, as a classic expression of women`s rights. Truth became, and still is today, a symbol of strong women.
