The coexistence of different cultural groups in one location is referred to as cultural diversity or multiculturalism. It's a concept opposite of monoculturalism - the policy or process of supporting, advocating, or allowing the expression of only one culture. In a society where cultural diversity is supported, people respect each other's differences and celebrate them. They understand that differences are not what divides us and that they should be celebrated as something that unites us as humans.
