Why was Great Britain in so much debt?

History
2 answers:
Ghella [55]3 years ago

Explanation:

The British thought the colonists should help pay for the cost of their own protection. Furthermore, the French and Indian War had cost the British treasury £70,000,000 and doubled their national debt to £140,000,000. Compared to this staggering sum, the colonists' debts were extremely light, as was their tax burden.

evablogger [386]
1. Saddam Hussein, the leader of Iraq, was afraid the Shiite south of Iraq (rich in oil) would rebel against the Sunni Baath Party, which Hussein headed, because of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

2. The Shatt al-Arab waterway was also another reason. The waterway caused much tension in the region because who controlled it had much influence in trade for the region.

The supreme court established the incorporation doctrine when the courta.interpreted the fourteenth amendment as extending most
ss7ja [257]
The correct answer is a.interpreted the fourteenth amendment as extending most of the requirements of the bill of rights to the states as well as the federal government

Basically, the bill of rights only protected people from federal prosecution and federal infringement which made a giant loophole for the states to exploit. The incorporation idea made it so that the bill of rights also applies in dealings with the states individually. It was only in the 1920s that incorporation fully began in the United States.

Identify three ways boundaries are created and provide a specific example of each one. (Physical boundaries NOT tectonic plates)
charle [14.2K]

There are multiple types of boundaries, all of them being set by the humans, some following some natural features, some not. Some of the types of boundaries are the natural boundaries, geometric boundaries, and maritime boundaries.

The natural boundaries are set long a natural feature, like a river or a mountain chain. Examples of this type of boundaries are the boundaries between the USA and Mexico along the Rio Grande river, or the border between Macedonia and Greece along the Kozhuf and Nidze mountain ranges.

The geometric boundaries are usually set in places that are very sparsely populated, mostly in desert areas. We can see this type of boundary between Libya and Algeria.

The maritime boundaries are boundaries set on ocean/sea waters between an island nation and continental nation, or between two island nations. An example of this type of boundary is the maritime boundary between Japan and South Korea in the Japanese Sea.
