Global warming is a slow increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally created by the greenhouse effect. This effect is caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.
It’s thin compared to the other layers (core, mantle etc) and is comprised of rocks so it is hard.

Costa Rica has billboards all over Canada (where I live) that advertise Costa Rica. Come to think of it, I haven't seen one of those in a while, but I'm sure I did. Our winters are horrible, cold and (this year) very long.
