The earth has an inner core and an outer core that lies around the inner core, then we have the lower mantle that lies around the outer core and around it lies the upper mantle. The asthenosphere is located above the upper mantle and finally we have the lithosphere. The lithosphere is the earth's outermost crust. Can be up to 100 km around the earth. The material contained in the lithosphere is hard. The lithosphere is located above the plastic asthenosphere.
