You'd have to find the length of C using the Pythagorean theorem.
So 15^2 + 8^2 = c^2
64 + 225 = c^2
289 = c^2
find the square root of each side
17 = c
You then add each side 15 + 8 + 17 which equals to 40 so 40 miles total !!
