Answer:

Federal, state, and local levels all have the power to tax. Of course, people expect state and local governments to provide services such as police protection, education, highway building and maintenance, welfare programs, and hospital and health care.

State and local governments exercise important functions in the United States. They plan and pay for most roads, run public schools, provide water, organize police and fire services, establish zoning regulations, license professions, and arrange elections for their citizens.

Municipalities. Cities, towns and villages are known as municipalities and are represented by a council, elected by residents. ...

Regional Municipalities. In May 2013, the regional municipality was introduced as a new restructuring option for New Brunswick communities. ...

Rural Communities (RC) ...

Local Service Districts (LSD)

What thoughts might you want to share with George
forsale [732]

Answer:

Little is to say to Floyd's friends and family in such a painful moment. However, I do believe that his death has had a powerful impact and them knowing that it might be able to change the world as we know it, could provide them some comfort.

Explanation:

The police violence against George Floyd is no different from any other African American experience with the police, and it saddens me that only because this case became filmed and viral online, is that people are now paying attention.

The protests feel like an eruption that could not be avoided, because impunity has gone too far, and people are rightfully angry. And the police brutality against those protesting is only one more proof of that rightfulness.

I feel that at this point is time to listen to African Americans and make sure that governmental policies are applied to fix the inherent racism in our society, not only by the police but also in every microaggression we all reproduce in our everyday lives.

I´m scared that these events may not be enough, that eventually the media will stop focusing on this issue. It´s on every one of us to keep this conversation going, to make sure policies are changed, to vote for those who believe in equality, and to revise our own behaviors to ensure change happens.

Can somone write a 250 word paragraph on the intellect of an african elephant.
Irina18 [472]

Proportionally, the elephant's brain is the most sizeable at a mass of just over 5kg. Although the largest whale is 20 times the body size of an elephant, its brain is just under twice the size. The need for such a large and complex organ becomes clear when we consider the behaviours and abilities of these animals. Elephants are capable of a range of emotions, including joy, playfulness, grief and mourning. In addition, elephants are able to learn new facts and behaviours, mimic sounds that they hear, self-medicate, play with a sense of humour, perform artistic activities, use tools and display compassion and self-awareness.

Part of the reason that elephants possess such a superior level of intelligence is the structure of their brain. Their neocortex is highly convoluted, as it is in humans, apes and some dolphins. This is generally accepted to be an indication of complex intelligence. The cortex is thick and comprises many neurons. The elephant is one of the few creatures (along with human beings) that is not born with survival instincts, but needs to learn these during infancy and adolescence. The brain is specially designed to accomplish this sort of life learning. Elephants and humans have a similar lifespan, and plenty of time, approximately 10 years, is allowed for them to learn before they are considered to be independent adults.

TThe lessons learnt include how to feed, use tools and understand their place in their social structure. Elephants capacity for memory and emotions is remarkable and is due to the well-developed hippocampus. This is also the area responsible for emotional flashbacks and is the reason that elephants experience Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
