Answer:

4.6 × 10⁹

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not really sure how I would write it down to show how I worked it out.

For me, I usually know in scientific notation, it's usually a decimal number multipled by 10 raised to a certain level of power.

So I just did 4,600,000,000 and turned that into a decimal without its extra zeros, which would be 4.6. Then I worked out how many places the decimal would be from there, which is 9 spaces behind 4.6.

Answer:

For example the age of the Earth (see above) can be written as 4.6 X 109 years. This means that this number has 9 places after the decimal place - filled with zeros unless a number comes after the decimal when writing scientific notation. So 4.6 X 109 years represents 4600000000 years.

Algebra 2 help, 69 points (nice) and Brainiest if possible!
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

This is a fairly straightforward piecewise function. The functions can be determined if you give me the vertex and one additional point of the dip in the graph. I also need 2 points in the green line. I can help you better if you provide me with these details because the pic is not very clear. Hope this helped a little.

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Use the vertex formula y=a(x-h)+k where h and k is the vertex and solve for a with additional point you can plug in.

2) find the green line by using the y=mx+b formula

3) Use the y= some number formula for blue line.

The length of a rectangular lot is 6 feet less than 4 times its width. its area is 256 sqaure feet.
Andrew [12]

The formula for the area of a rectangle is length times width, or A=l·w

The Area A=256
The width is w
The lenght is given as 6 feet less than 4 times its width, or in math language this is l=4w-6

Let's go back to the formula
A=l·w ⇒ 256=(4w-6)·w
simplify ⇒ 256=4w²-6w
put everything on the same side and set the equation equal to zero
⇒ 4w²-6w-256=0
Solve for w using quadratic formula

You are going to get two answers after using the quadratic formula: one positive and one negative. Just remember it doesn't make sense to get a negative answer if we are talking about width, so use the positive answer only

w≈8.7851 units

The complement of an angle is 59°. What is the measure of the angle?
GrogVix [38]
Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees. The complement of 59 degrees would be 31 degrees, since 31 + 59 = 90.
