What's the difference between writing down a theme and a main idea?

English

Answer:

A theme is like a statement about the message the writing was trying to get across, while a main point is more like a topic.

Explanation:

A theme will almost be a moral, and it is generally expressed in a sentence. A main idea is like a general thing that applies to the writing. You can build a theme statement off of a topic.

For example:

Topic/Main Idea: Friendship

Theme: Friendship is a powerful force

(Ik that is cheesy but its the best example I could come up with lol)

Focus groups typically involve a group of people who are unfamiliar with a topic and are brought together to respond to question
mina [271]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

This statement is true. Individuals that are brought into a focus group are chosen by researchers to not have any experience with the topic at hand. They are then given hands-on experience with the product or service that will be discussed with the researchers. This is done to test how brand new users will feel about the product/service when it is released to the public.

Find the ratio of hoosiers to ohioans by population and interpret its meaning
Readme [11.4K]
What are the values? If there are no values or numbers there is no ratio?

Ratio can be rate but rate can never be ratio. In essence, rate is comparison between ratios.  While ratio is comparison between two or more numbers. Further, ratio on one hand, involves numbers either in amount, size, measurement, degrees, percentages or fractions with the absence of specific unit of measurement. On the contrary, rate is comparing quantities, amounts or unit of events happened expressed in a specific measurement or expressed under time. Take for instance, an example, Joe eats 2 while John eats 4 meals in a day. The ratio can be Joe: John, 2:4 meals. While the rate, is Joe eats 2 meals/day and John 4 meals/day.<span>
